Title: Communities 4.0
Abstract: Why do Facebook and WeWork invest tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in entrepreneurial communities? In 2018, Facebook launched the FCLP – Facebook Community Leadership Program, which includes direct support and grants of up to $ 1 million to managers of significant and influential Facebook groups. At the same time, WeWork Works launched the Creator Awards, which also included a category of community and social influence. Is it a contribution or an investment, a PR or a strategy? Who is working to inject hundreds of millions of dollars into the field, and will community entrepreneurs remain a hobby or become a profession?
Roy Monin is the CEO and co-founder of Made in JLM, an organization that works to promote the high-tech community in Jerusalem. Community entrepreneur, winner of “Forbes Under 30”. The Organization’s Society Labs project has become one of the first 100 communities in the world (out of 6,000 and one in Israel) that won Facebook’s FCLP and a year earlier in the first creator’s awards out of 600 candidates. Roy has previously worked as a community member at Orcam and established a community-related startup. He is a member of the Schusterman Foundation’s ROI community. He is a graduate of the Yasu High School in Jerusalem and one of the founders of the Alumni Association while supporting other community leaders and developing groups as a side project for fun.
Roni Bonjack is the Head of Developer and Startup Programs at Facebook, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to that, she was the global head of Google Developer Launchpad program at Google. Most of her experience before that is mainly with early-stage startups, in both Israel and Silicon Valley. She holds a BSc in Industrial Engineering and Management from Tel Aviv University and a mom of 2 little kids.
Uri Eliabayev is consulting companies who want to add AI capabilities to their servicesproducts. Uri has worked with consulting companies and organizations and helps them to choose and implement the best AI solution for their needs. In addition, Uri has founded the biggest AI community in Israel called “Machine and Deep Learning Israel”. The community has more than 13,000 members who are the leading AI talents in Israel.
Marcelle Kaspi has been a product designer since 2010. This being her 3rd career path, she decided to focus her projects on products that help people do their jobs better. She’s also the co-founder and community leader of the CreativeMornings Jerusalem chapter, a community that holds a monthly breakfast lecture series for the creative community. According to their tradition, each event includes a short lecture, a delicious breakfast, and a mimosa.
